The Marula fruit grows in Africa on the Marula or Elephant tree, so called because elephants love to eat it. When they do a curious thing happens, the marula starts to ferment in their stomach, causing them to get slightly tipsy!
Inspired by this phenomenon, two Belgian gin-lovers decided to create a new gin based on the Marula fruit. The result is a triple distilled small batch gin, using rare, handpicked botanicals including coriander from India, lavender from Provence, orange blossom from Spain, rose petals and of course Marula, the forbidden fruit of the elephant tree!
The result of these fine ingredients translates into a sultry gin with an exotic touch. Scents of peach, apricot and lavender. A unique taste with a beautiful sweet finish.
Marula Gin – The original Marula Gin, includes juniper berries from Tuscany, lavender from Provence, rose petals from Bulgaria, coriander from India and orange blossom from Spain. Bursting with fruity, tropical notes.
Marula Pomegranate – The addition of fresh pomegranate in Marula Pomegranate creates a mellow and accessible gin with a soft pink colour. It is subtly sweet and has aromas of red fruits such as raspberry, wild strawberry and blackberry.
Café Marula – A delicious combination of caffeine-rich beans and the fruit of the African elephant tree.. The strong floral flavour and high acidity of the coffee bean blends perfectly with the sweet taste of the marula fruit.
